Downtown OKC Brownstone

Some friends of mine recently made the move to embrace the new urban opportunities that exist in OKC. A couple with a son and a trio of kitties, they gave up the typical large Oklahoma lawn and sleepy suburban setting for something that more closely resembled their living situations in both The Bay Area and Los Angeles. Something sleeker with a bit more walkability and accessibility to the fresh new cultural offerings our city continues to churn out.

They definitely found it.

This trio is making their three-story brownstone their own with nods to their shared loves (like a series of framed concert posters), their families (the family wall in the guest bath is a favorite), and their current city (many a piece were purchased locally at beloved local spots such as Plenty Mercantile and Always Greener).
Get a glimpse of this fantastic downtown Oklahoma City brownstone in Deep Deuce. (The first photo features art by local painter Rita Ortloff.)

Love this painting from OKC artist  Rita Ortloff!

Sarah Yoakam, M.D.

Knowing intelligent men and women who want to impact our world is a gift for which I continue to feel gratitude. Sarah Yoakam, M.D. is no exception. We grew up together (she was in the class ahead of me), and we share several mutual friends.

Sarah studied in Arizona under Dr. Andrew Weil, one of the United States’ preeminent experts on alternative health. Just taking a look at his website gives you loads of good info! Sarah’s story is one of a kind, and I loved shooting her portraits. Take a look at her new site to learn a bit more and check out her upcoming speaking engagements.
